Power the IP handset via a PoE switch

Software version affected: sw ver > 1.7

 

Subject:

IP handset does not power up.

 

Identification:

LAN ports do not detect the IP handset when connected to the terminal. (IP handset does not absorb enough power, fast enough). Terminal will switch of Power over Ethernet (PoE) causing IP handset to not power up.

 

Action:

If none of the LAN ports on the terminal detects the IP handset, connect the IP handset via a switch with PoE (D-LinkDES1008

The PoE switch will have permanent power on the PoE port’s, and the IP handset will power on.
